The Czech Republic has a vibrant LARP scene that spans medieval fantasy epics, modern horror tales, post-apocalyptic survival games, and more. Across the country – from LARP events in Prague and Brno to games in forests and castles – players gather to immerse themselves in live-action roleplay adventures. Czech LARP (live action roleplay) culture is well-established, with events ranging from small chamber games to massive battles involving hundreds of participants. Below is a country-specific list of active in-person LARP events in the Czech Republic, including both Czech-language and English-language games. Each listing notes the city/region, primary language (Czech, English, or bilingual), genre or theme (e.g. fantasy, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic), a brief description, and an official website or page for more details. (International participants are welcome at several events – those are highlighted as "international" below.)
A family-friendly fantasy LARP set in a medieval world of swords and sorcery, now in its 10th year. It's designed for both beginners and seasoned LARPers, including kids and adults, letting players become heroes in an original story for a weekend.
Genre: High-Fantasy Battle (Lord of the Rings inspired)
One of the largest Czech LARPs, Helmáč is a big summer fantasy battle event drawing around 500 players. Set in a Middle-earth inspired realm ("Edoras"), it immerses participants in epic war scenarios with costumes and foam weapons. Despite the large scale combat, it's a story-driven LARP rather than a strict historical reenactment.
An immersive week-long LARP that brings Middle-earth to life as we know it from J.R.R. Tolkien's works. Players become inhabitants of Middle-earth in the Third Age, experiencing adventures in the "Wilds of Rhovanion." Expect rich lore, Elves, Dwarves, and the shadow of Mordor in an outdoor setting.
An annual large-scale Lord of the Rings LARP battle organized by Moravian LARP. Hundreds of players (often 500–700) take on the roles of Tolkien's races and armies in an open-field battle for Middle-earth. This event is a cornerstone of the Czech LARP calendar, featuring massive fights, camp life, and an epic atmosphere near Brno.
A long-running fan LARP based on the Naruto manga/anime universe, now in its 12th year. Players become ninja characters in the world of Naruto, complete with shinobi clans, jutsu-powered battles, and unfolding story arcs. It's a weekend adventure that blends anime-inspired storytelling with live combat and stealth missions.
"Battle for the Marshes" is a weekend LARP battle set in the Witcher's world, drawing on Andrzej Sapkowski's Witcher saga. It's a "dřevárna" (boffer weapon war) where Northern Kingdoms clash with Nilfgaard, monsters lurk, and witchers and mages influence the tides of war. The event emphasizes combat but also features the gritty narrative and moral ambiguity of the Witcher's realm.
Location: Paris (1890s) setting; venue in Czech Republic
Language: Czech (with English international runs)
Genre: Historical Drama
An intimate 1890s Parisian drama for 28 players, produced by Rolling. Fin de Siècle recreates the gloomy yet romantic atmosphere of the fin-de-siècle era, populated by artists and poets (the poètes maudits) in a cabaret. Players become pre-written characters meeting at Le Chat Noir cabaret, experiencing two evenings of absinthe-tinged secrets, nostalgia, and turn-of-the-century dilemmas. The game explores themes of decadence vs. progress, political ideals (monarchists, republicans, etc.), and personal fate. A First International Run in English is offered, making this rich period piece accessible to non-Czech players.
A high-production international LARP inspired by the video game "Disco Elysium", run by Rolling. Set in the fictitious crumbling city of Revachol, it's a gritty, artistic story about poverty, politics, broken dreams, and unexpected beauty in the ruins of society. Players portray a community of misfits – factory workers, criminals, ideologues, penniless artists – living in a dilapidated tenement and confronting harsh social realities. The event runs for 3 days in a former military hospital in Terezín (an hour north of Prague). With an international crew and English as the primary language, 97 Poets is actively marketed to international participants and praised for its deep narrative and immersive atmosphere.

Players find themselves in a regime camp fraught with intrigue, oppression, and resistance. The game features airsoft combat, scavenging, and tough moral choices in a grim wasteland. (18+ event, recommended for experienced LARPers).
