The live action role-play (LARP) scene in Sweden is vibrant and diverse, reflecting the country's rich Nordic LARP tradition of immersive, narrative-driven games. LARPing has been active in Sweden since the 1980s and continues to thrive today, with events organized nationwide – from the major cities of Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö to the rural countryside. Swedish LARP events span a wide range of genres (medieval fantasy, sci-fi, horror, etc.), and include both intimate indie games and large festival-style events.
Many Swedish LARPs emphasize story, character immersion, and collaborative play, often blurring the line between game and improvised theatre. Both Swedish-language local events and English-language international events are available. Notably, several Swedish LARPs are marketed internationally, welcoming participants from around the world (with English as the primary language), while others cater mainly to local players in Swedish.
Below is a list of current in-person LARP events in Sweden – all narrative-driven and in-person (excluding online, play-by-post, and pure historical reenactments):

Lord of Lies
Location:Skara, Västergötland
Language: English
Genre:1950s occult drama
A darkly comedic pulp fiction LARP about a dysfunctional wannabe Satanic cult in 1950s America.
Description:Lord of Lies is a boutique 16-player larp set in 1949–1950, following a group of drop-outs trying (and spectacularly failing) to summon the Antichrist in a communal living setting. Despite the occult trappings, this is not a game of real sorcery or gothic horror – instead it's about the annoyances of communal life, unspoken hierarchies, and broken relationships under the guise of a satanic sex cult. Themes include power dynamics, exploitation, lies, and the gap between grand ambitions and petty reality. Expect heated arguments over dishes and absurd rituals with questionable substances, rather than actual devil worship. This event, organized by Atropos Studios, has run multiple times in Skara and gained a cult following. It is marketed internationally – runs are held in English and draw participants from across Europe.
